The 19 of April marked 100 days to go until the 2022 Commonwealth Games begin in Birmingham, England.
As part of the lead up to the games, The Queen’s Baton is making its journey visiting 72 nations and territories across the Commonwealth.
The Baton’s journey began on 7 October 2021, and will be welcomed here in Anguilla on 08, May 2022 from St. kitts and Nevis. The Baton activities in Anguilla will be live on the 9 – 10 May with departure to Antigua on the 11 May 2022.
HE the Governor Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam met with members of The Anguilla Commonwealth Games Association who are busy at work planning the arrival of the Baton to Anguilla.
President of the Anguilla Commonwealth Games Association Kenn Banks said
“It is a pleasure once again to be part of the team which will welcome The Queen’s Baton to our island. Anguillians are proud to be part of the Baton’s journey which I hope will inspire and connect our communities, as it connects the many different cultures which make up the commonwealth.”
