THE INLAND REVENUE DEPARTMENT LAUNCHES REGISTRATION FOR THE GOODS AND SERVICES TAX

The Inland Revenue Department (IRD), in preparation for the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) on 1 July 2022 is pleased to announce the launch of its registration drive for GST commencing, Monday 4th April 2022.

Businesses are required to apply for GST registration if:
– Within the last 12 months, the value of their taxable supplies equaled or exceeded EC$300,000; or
– Within the next 12 months, they expect the value of their taxable supplies to equal or exceed EC$300,000.

Note that Auctioneers, Short-Term Accommodation Providers (stays of 182 days or less), Promoters and Proprietors of Public Entertainment or State or Statutory Bodies, are required to register from the date the taxable activity commenced, regardless of the registration threshold requirement of EC$300,000.

The registration forms can be accessed on the IRD Website or at our office. Form F2 is to be completed by Sole Proprietors and Form F3 by Non-individuals such as Partnerships and Companies.
