As part of our Continued Professional Development initiative, our officers – together with colleagues from Her Majesty’s Prison, Anguilla Fire and Rescue Service, and the Anguilla Immigration Department – are participating in a three-week Leadership and Wellbeing training programme.
The training is being facilitated by Mr. Rob Priddy of RMP Leadership Solutions based in the United Kingdom. Mr. Priddy is a retired operational Superintendent from Gloucestershire Constabulary, who has utilised more than four decades of leadership, and learning and development experience from careers in structural engineering, the Royal Air Force, and the UK Police Service.
The aim of this programme is to develop leaders within the Royal Anguilla Police Force and its partners, which will ultimately continue to enhance the delivery of service to the Anguillian community.
Twenty officers who formed cohort 1 have already completed one week of training, and another cohort of twenty-two officers commenced their training on Monday 28th March 2022. During the first week of the training, Her Excellency The Governor made a brief courtesy call and spoke with the participants.
Upon conclusion of the training, more than sixty officers would have benefitted. All participants who completed the training will be presented with certificates of completion from the Institute of Training & Occupational Learning (ITOL). They will also be given additional support, over the next 90 days, as they execute their development plan within their various organisations.
Commissioner of the Royal Anguilla Police Force, Mr. David Lynch, urged the officers to enjoy the training, take away the learning aspect of it, and use it to evolve into better leaders and transform their organisations or departments.
