Former Chemistry Teacher at the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School, and famed House Mistress of Yellow House, Mrs. Ola Pabs-Garnon, returned to the island on 07 March 2022 after a 19-year absence.

Mrs. Pabs-Garnon has returned not only for a social visit but to introduce the game of pickle ball to school children and anyone else who would like to learn the game.

A special section of the Rodney MacArthur Rey Auditorium was marked out for the purpose, and Mrs. Pabs-Garnon has led several physical education classes as well as coached adult members of the school and wider community in the playing of the game. This would include newly-appointed Director of Sport, Mr. Delano Mussington, who has fond memories of Mrs. Pabs-Garnon as a House Mistress, and remains impressed with her unwavering enthusiasm for sports and her energetic willingness to share this with others.

Yellow House is also pleased to be able to interact with Mrs. Pabs-Garnon and will host activities to show appreciation for her past stalwart leadership of the House.

Mrs. Pabs-Garnon taught at the ALHCS from 1992 to 2003. She will turn age 90 on 21 April. While on the island, she is being hosted by past teaching colleagues, Mrs. Ivy Plank and Mrs. Ethne Richardson.

The Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School is happy to welcome back Mrs. Pabs-Garnon to the island and to the school. We are indeed inspired by her energy and her goodwill towards the institution.
