On Sunday afternoon, April 17th, the St. Augustine’s Choral staged its annual Easter concert at the St. Augustine’s Anglican Church in East End. Evidently, the group has bounced back bigger and better after a two-year hiatus due COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.
Sunday’s performance, with the theme “Honoured, Glorified Exalted”, featured a wide range of new, contemporary arrangements as well as fresh twists to traditional ones. The audience was inspired with captivating tunes like: “Indescribable” led by Monique, Stacey and Gordon; “In This Holy Hour”, led by Tameika; “Make His Praise Glorious”; and Andre Crouch’s “Jesus is the Answer” and “Take Me Back”, led by Eversley and Amelia, respectively.
In her introduction of the group this year, chorale member Gina Brooks said: “Because of our Heavenly Father’s great love for us, we have been granted the privilege to be here to minister once again. Today, I invite you to listen and be blessed as we proclaim the Easter story through word and music.”
At the end of the event, those in attendance expressed that they were indeed blessed and encouraged. As is customary, there will be a repeat of this Easter concert this coming Sunday, 22nd April, at 5:00 p.m.
