A memorial service for the late Basil Theodore Rey was held at the Mount Fortune Seventh-day Adventist Church on Thursday, January 20, 2022.

Basil was discovered deceased on January 10th at his home in Island Harbour. He was the nephew of the late James Ronald Webster, the “Father of the Nation”, and has left many relatives and friends to mourn his loss in his native village of Island Harbour.

An avid motor cyclist, Basil was a member of the Thunder Cruise Motor Cycle Club, and the De Rumblers Motor Cycle Club. As such, a spectacular array of a cycle-motorcade was staged in his honour from Two-Sons Funeral Home in North Hill to the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Mount Fortune.
