The Rock Awards ceremony hosted by Ms. Anguilla 2019 2nd Runner Up – Ms. Sari-Lee Benjamin – featured contributions by Dance Factory, Levonda Delaney and Apostle Denroy Gumbs. The Minister of Social Development, Education and Library Services, Ms. Dee-Ann Kentish Rogers offered congratulations to the honourees and remarked on the importance of honouring our cultural and artistic ambassadors. Minister Kentish-Rogers pledged the Government of Anguilla’s continued support towards the development of Culture and Arts.
The Rock Awards recognise and honour, persons who have dedicated their lives and careers to the development, promotion and preservation of Anguillian Culture and Arts. Persons were nominated in three main categories: Participation in and/or Promoting Culture and Arts, Developing and Leading Culture and Arts, and Cultural and Artistic Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Department extends thanks to the selection committee, chaired by Mrs. Jacqueline Bryan-Niles, and comprising Mrs. Karimah Carty, Ms. Angela Ruan, Mr. Felix Fleming and Mr. Davon Carty, for their years of dedication and service towards the National Culture and Arts Awards.
