The Honourable Minister for Education, Ms. Dee-Ann Kentish-Rogers and Chief Education Officer, Mr. Bren Romney, were among the special guests who brought greetings at The University of the West Indies (UWI) Open Campus Anguilla’s annual Recognition of Graduates Ceremony on Thursday, December 9, 2021. The Ceremony in honour of the thirty-six (36) new UWI Open Campus Anguilla Graduates took place at 3:30 p.m. at the Rodney MacArthur Rey Auditorium at Campus B. It followed the University’s formal virtual Graduation exercise in October and provides an opportunity for the Graduates to celebrate their achievements with family and friends.
Fifteen of the Graduates completed postgraduate programmes: Linette Carty, Erlyn Wilkinson, Rondy Isles-Carty, Kemoloy Murphy, Mavis Fleming, Amarlia Richardson, Kennisha Leveret, Julianne Leveret, Roslyn Forde, Rochelle Ward, Shanomay Young, Richard White and Kimberly Francis received Masters degrees in Management Studies, Project Management, Education and Educational Leadership, while Tameisha Ible and K. Connor were awarded Post Graduate Diplomas in Management.
Twenty-one (21) of the new Graduates, including Anthea Connor, Melissa Lake, Soya Warde Williams, Bernice Edwards, Rosette Reid, Ana Bryan, Hydie Thomas, Cavelle Fleming, Sheila Hodge, Kenisha George, Deanna Bryan, Naomi Williams, Janelle Anthony, Dawvier Gumbs, Shantel Carbon, Sharon James, Yasheika Campbell Hunter, Zwinya Connor-Anderson, Violet Frank, E. Gregory and Dorpha Seabrookes received undergraduate degrees in Accounting, Management Studies, Education, Social Work, Youth Development Work, Paralegal Studies and Human Resource Management.
Three (3) of the Postgraduates were awarded distinctions and seven (7) of the Undergraduates graduated with First Class Honours.
