ILLEGAL FIREARM RECOVERED

Acting on intelligence received, officers attached to the major crime unit of the Royal Anguilla Police Force executed an operation on Monday 29th November 2021 in the village of Rendezvous, West End, Anguilla. During the operation, a suspected vehicle was intercepted. The driver of the said vehicle subsequently fled the scene and was given chase by the officers. During the chase, the suspect threw an object into the sea. An officer immediately searched the area in question and a Glock 26 firearm with an extended clip of 20 rounds of ammunition was recovered. The suspect is presently in police custody and will subsequently appear before the magistrate court to answer charges laid before him.
