Fellow Anguillians, residents and visitors to Anguilla, friends and colleagues. As the curtain descends on the year 2021, we can breathe a sigh of relief and offer a silent prayer to the Almighty God that we (as individuals and as a country) have made it through to celebrate this Christmas Season – and herald in a new year.
While as a country we were tested by trials and tribulations, over the past 12 months, we look forward to the year 2022 along with new opportunities, a renewed vision, and the endless possibilities that are open to each one of us.
We end 2021, recognising that we must adjust in the face of covid-19, but also appreciating the presence of loved ones in our lives, particularly during this season of thanksgiving. As a people, we Anguillians, have always been resilient. And it is this resilience, this never say fail quality, which lies within each one of us and, indeed, will continue to carry us through difficult periods.
Let us spend this Christmas with our family, friends and those closest to us, while sparing a thought and a prayer for the less fortunate – and for those who have lost loved ones in recent times.
Have a safe, blessed and joyous Christmas! God Bless You, and I love each and everyone of you. God Bless Anguilla.
