Mr Sheridan Smith with Mr Sarmento

Dear Mr. Sarmento:

As the time has come for you to move on with your professional career beyond the shores of Anguilla, I want to take this opportunity to express my profound thanks to you. I was introduced to you by the regional director of Belmond Cap Juluca, Mr. Reis. After a brief conversation, I must confess that my on-the-spot instinct gravitated towards you immediately. I saw a young and vibrant gentleman who I believed would be an excellent fit with whom to implement a seamless business-working relationship between Cap Juluca and Sheriva. Being just a stone’s throw across the street, I knew that we would develop and maintain a respectful relationship that was unparalleled on Anguilla, and one not witnessed before.

Thank you for your indulgence, not only for the genuine acceptance of an indigenous-owned property that was wholeheartedly accepted by Cap Juluca, but also for extending signing privileges for Sheriva’s guests to utilise the restaurants, watersports, tennis courts, spa, gift shops, etc. This was the realisation of what professional teamwork and innovative collaboration looks like. Your unfeigned concern for others is unparalleled. Particularly right after Hurricane Irma, where Sheriva suffered devastation by winds the world had never experienced, you constantly kept in touch with me personally and inquired of Sheriva’s well-being as a neighboring property.

I must also say that I believe that were you Anguillian-born, and involved in theoretical political framework, you would have competed with one of Anguilla’s most accomplished, most appealing politician-businessman, Mr. Osbourne Fleming. And this expression comes with absolutely no reservations.

I sincerely wish to take this opportunity to wish you a successful transition to your new assignment. I think you are a natural gemstone to the Belmond product. You will continue to be an asset regardless of where you are transferred to on this planet.

Sincerely,

Sheridan Smith, CEO
