Sunday, October 3rd, was Consecration Sunday at the Church of God of Prophecy in West End, where Dr. Samuel Daniel is Pastor. The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (Anguilla Agency), in opening its Financial Information Month, took the opportunity to join in worship and thanksgiving with the West End congregation.
The service was moderated by Associate Pastor, Marlene Lewis-Brooks. Worship was directed in a lively fashion by Lynn Reid, an exuberant, spirit-filled worship enthusiast, who led the Worship Team and the congregation in spontaneous praises unto God. The melodious singing of the song “What a Wonderful Name it is” took the spotlight of the worship session.
The sermon was preached by Pastor Daniel, on the theme: “God is Doing a New Thing! Get Used to Different!” The backdrop of the message comprised two scriptures: Romans 8:28 and Philippians 2:13, where the Apostle Paul sought to convince the church that no matter what circumstances they may face or what challenges they encounter, God works all things out for their good, and for His good pleasure.
“Though man is in a constant struggle in life,” the Pastor exclaimed, “those who love God are called by Him will be freed from the bondages and corruptions of life’s circumstances. And as long as they continue to love God, it is His pleasure to work out all of their troubles for their good.
“God assures us that absolutely nothing can prevent His plan and purpose from coming to fruition in the lives of the believers who love Him. God’s settle plan and purpose in the lives of His children will come to pass for their God and for His pleasure.”
Following the sermon, the moderator gave a cordial welcome to the ECCB delegation, Representative, Mrs. Mishline Leader, Acorn’s Administrative Officer, took the opportunity to speak to the congregation as regards Financial Information Month:
“A blessed good morning to everyone, and we thank you for having us with you today, here at the Church of God of Prophecy,” she greeted.
“Financial Information Month, or FIM for short, which was initiated since 2002, is observed every October under the theme: ‘Financial Empowerment Through Education.’ FIM is geared towards attaining a financially developed and vibrant ECCU region that fosters strong, sustainable economic growth and the improved wellbeing of the residents of the region. Each year, FIM partners roll out various programmes in their respective countries on financial, economic, business, and entrepreneurial matters in an effort to attain its goals.
“As ECCB in the region continues to work towards adjusting to the changes posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, FIM’s partners believe that it is critical to continue educating the public on how to cope during these times. FIM’s partners have agreed on the FIM 2021 area of focus which is: Innovation in the Face of Financial Adversity – Respond! Recover! Rise!
“Throughout the course of this month, our activities will surround this area of focus, highlighting the following subtopics: 1. Let’s Get Digital (being equipped with the digital way of life); 2. Make saving, budgeting and investing a habit for a more comfortable tomorrow; and 3. Minding Your Business (how small business can stay afloat in tough times). FIM partners in each ECCB member country will execute a number of initiatives in observance of FIM 2021, and these will be posted on the FIM Facebook page at www.facebook.com/financialinformationmonthECCU.
“Thank you for accommodating us. It was our pleasure to have worshipped with you today.”
