Mrs. Florencia Parlona Ingrid Reece

The High Court of Anguilla bid farewell to Mrs. Florencia Parlona Ingrid Reece on Thursday, 9th September 2021, at 7:00 pm, with a dinner at the premises of the Court House where she was presented with her “Retirement Grant”. On Tuesday, 7th September 2021, at 5:30 pm, there was also a Tribute Session in honour of Mrs. Reece at the High Court. In addition to the tributes, she received tokens of appreciation from Public Administration, the Anguilla Bar Association, the High Court Staff and Magistrate’s Court Staff. However, the celebrations commenced with a games and movie evening on Thursday, 2nd September 2021.

Mrs. Reece joined the Anguilla Public Service on 17th October 1986. She joined the Judicial Department as Senior Clerical Officer on 10th November 1993. In October 1999, she was appointed as Executive Officer/Registration, Probate & Personnel. On 1st December 2017, she was appointed as Judicial Executive Assistant, a post she held until retirement. She was also appointed Mediation Coordinator on that same day. She has been a Commissioner of Oaths since November 2004, and on 30th April 2020 she was also appointed a Justice of the Peace.

For 27 years, Mrs. Reece made an invaluable contribution to the administration of justice. She served with passion and vigour, despite her health challenges. She was reliable, a team player, supportive, and made time to have fun with her coworkers playing games like Taboo, Pictionary and, lest we forgot, she loved to dance and sing. We will remember her fondly and will miss her lively spirit.
Tributes were received from Her Ladyship the Hon. Dame Janice Pereira, DBE, Chief Justice of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (ECSC) and former resident judge of Anguilla; Sir Hugh Rawlins, former Chief Justice of the ECSC; Justice Adrian Saunders, President of the Caribbean Court of Justice and Anguilla’s first resident judge; Justice Birnie Stephenson, former Senior Magistrate and Head of the Judicial Department; Justice Raulston Glasgow; Justice Agnes Actie; Master Tamara Gill; Mr. Ricardo Sandcroft, former master of the ECSC; Her Excellency the Governor, Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam; Mr. Perin Bradley, Hon. Deputy Governor; Ms. Paulette Harrigan, Counsel; Mrs. Rozelle Hennis-Richardson, Executive Officer; Ms. Vanisha Proctor, House of Assembly Clerk of the Committee; Mrs. Vernette S. Richardson Richards, Registrar of the High Court; and Justice Shawn Innocent, resident judge.
Mrs. Michelle John-Theobalds, Chief Registrar of the ECSC, also extended congratulations to Mrs. Reece on achieving this milestone.
We appreciate Mrs. Reece’s many years of faithful service and wish her a long, healthy and happy retirement.
