Sáaliha Abdur-Raheem- UP Girl President, and Simon A. Fricker, Managing Director, Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club

Aurora Anguilla Resort and Golf Club is delighted to make a financial contribution to “Up Girl”, a non-profit young women’s organisation in Anguilla. The resort has donated US $500 to the organisation. The contribution will help cover the cost of a week-long seminar that “Up Girl” will be hosting from August 15-21 for girls 10-18 years old. The up-coming event is part of an effort for the empowerment of young ladies in Anguilla. “UP Girl” has been developed by 16-year-old Anguillian, Sáaliha Abdur-Raheem.
Aurora Anguilla’s Managing Director, Mr. Simon A. Fricker, has conveyed the Resort’s congratulations and best wishes to “Up Girl” and Ms. Abdur-Raheem for their work in Anguilla, and looks forward to their continued success.
UP Girl was created as an avenue for young women to help each other through the encouragement of peers and mentors. The mission and vision are to empower young females to be exceptional citizens while boosting their self-esteem and confidence through continued support systems.
Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club is currently undergoing enhancements to create a Caribbean paradise for the most discerning travellers in search of an authentic island getaway – both elegant and relaxed. Set on the idyllic Rendezvous Bay, the resort spans over 300 acres of prime land and celebrates the many facets that make Anguilla as a destination – its culture so special to visitors.

The 178-suite property is home to a collection of world-class amenities, placing the resort in a league of its own. Its crown jewels include private planes exclusive to the resort; seven restaurants and bars overseen by Chef Abram Bissell; Sorana Spa and Aurora International Golf Course. The 18-hole Championship Golf Course, envisioned by Greg Norman, is part of the redevelopment of the resort.
