Aurora Anguilla Resort and Golf Club is delighted to make a financial contribution to “Up Girl”, a non-profit young women’s organisation in Anguilla. The resort has donated US $500 to the organisation. The contribution will help cover the cost of a week-long seminar that “Up Girl” will be hosting from August 15-21 for girls 10-18 years old. The up-coming event is part of an effort for the empowerment of young ladies in Anguilla. “UP Girl” has been developed by 16-year-old Anguillian, Sáaliha Abdur-Raheem.
Aurora Anguilla’s Managing Director, Mr. Simon A. Fricker, has conveyed the Resort’s congratulations and best wishes to “Up Girl” and Ms. Abdur-Raheem for their work in Anguilla, and looks forward to their continued success.
UP Girl was created as an avenue for young women to help each other through the encouragement of peers and mentors. The mission and vision are to empower young females to be exceptional citizens while boosting their self-esteem and confidence through continued support systems.
