The Valley Anguilla- The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communication, Utilities, Housing and Tourism (MICUHT) congratulates the new Board of Directors for Anguilla Electricity Company Limited (ANGLEC) and echoed a sound charge to the newly appointment Chairman Mr. Patrick Mardenborough and Deputy Chairman Jibri Lewis to work in harmony with the other members of the Board of Directors to ensure that the people of Anguilla are at the heart of the decisions being made. Further, there is a call to remain aligned to transparency and focus on value for investment and good governance when representing the interest and affairs of all shareholders.
The other members of the Board of Directors are as follows: Ms. Donna ‘Sadie’ Gumbs, Ms. Geraldine James, Dr. Wycliffe Fahie, Mr. Jerome Roberts, Mr. Cameron Lloyd, Mr. Arthur ‘Max’ Hodge and Mr. Derek Gumbs.
Commenting on the appointment of the new Board of Directors, the Honourable Minister MICUHT Mr. Haydn Hughes thanked the outgoing Chairman Mr. Jerome Roberts for his service and dedication to bringing about change and order to the affairs of the utility. He also went on to thank the members whose time of service on the Board has come to an end namely Mr. Evan Gumbs, Mr. Juan Richardson and Mr. Victor Nickeo noting that their spirit and national pride are testament to the strides the institution has made. Mr. Hughes stated that “The current times require innovation, teamwork and an unwavering dedication to shared governance and inclusion. With the transformation to Anguilla’s infrastructure and the vision of the utility, the new Board of Directors is expected to lead with a sense of purpose as we bring about the improvements so desperately needed”.
Mr. Patrick Mardenborough shared that “It is my expectation that this new board will operate to their full potential. We have some brilliant individuals who are not only well educated in their respective fields but have gained a wealth of experience and insight into disciplines that are a resource to the company. Rest assured that the interest of the shareholders will run parallel to that of the people of Anguilla. Our focus wi ll be to have an efficient and cost effective supply of electricity as this is paramount to national development. Renewable energy is of critical importance and this will be pursued relentlessly during my tenure. Prior to my appointment I heard the cries of the people and I am forever mindful of our challenges, you can expect that the Board of ANGLEC will serve with transparency and integrity as we move forward together”.
