COVID-19 Update 14/21 FROM H.E. THE GOVERNOR AND THE HON. PREMIER

Today, 21 July, the Government of Anguilla has donated 2,000 doses of the Astra Zenenca Covid-19 vaccine to the Government of The Bahamas. This donation has been agreed by and arranged with the UK Government and is at the request of the Government of The Bahamas. A flight left this morning for Antigua and Barbuda where the vaccine doses, stored in a special temperature controlled container to maintain the cold chain, will be transferred on to a direct flight to the Bahamas.
This donation means that the excess Covid-19 vaccine doses which we held in stock will not go to waste before they expire on 31 July. The Government of Anguilla is both pleased and proud that we have been able to support the Government of The Bahamas in the fight against Covid-19.

But let us reassure you that we still have sufficient vaccine doses on island both for first doses and those scheduled to receive their second dose. And to reconfirm, the UK Government is committed to providing second dose vaccines for anyone who takes their first dose vaccine before 31 July.

Please go to James Ronald Webster Park drive-thru to get vaccinated – every weekday until 4pm – from today there are just 7 days left for you to become vaccinated by 31 July. No appointments are necessary – just turn up with a form of photo ID. Please do not regret waiting, go and get vaccinated.
