Dear Minister
I wish to express my sincere condolences on the sad passing of your father, the Hon. Hubert Hughes, former Chief Minister. He was an extraordinary Anguillian, a man of principle, and he lived a full life of service and devotion to his beloved Anguilla.
May God bless and comfort you and your family at this difficult time; you are all are in my thoughts and prayers.
And may his soul rest in peace.
Sincerely,
Alison Ross

Honourable Minister,
Our deepest condolences to you on your loss, a loss not only for you but also for Anguilla as a whole.
This marks the sad passing of an entire chapter of Anguilla’s history in the loss of someone who devoted so much of his life, well into advanced age, to the Island and its people.
I had the honour of spending many hours in discussion with him in his last tenure of office as Chief Minister and gained much respect for his old fashioned courtesy and dedication to Anguilla, even if we differed on some matters of policy sometimes. His manner was such that, at times, it was not until after our discussions had ended and we had parted that it became clear that he might not have agreed with all we had discussed! I will never forget a real gentleman.
Please accept our deepest condolences to you all, not only from myself, but from us all at CFAS,
Michael Adda
