Anguilla’s Senior Magistrate, Mr. Keithly Benjamin, has been appointed an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE).
The award was made to him by Queen Elizabeth the Second in her 2021 Birthday Honours List. The award, among other awards in the British Commonwealth of Nations, was announced by Buckingham Palace in London on Friday, June 11.
Mr. Benjamin was officially informed about his award by Governor Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam at a brief ceremony at her office earlier on the above date.

“Earlier today 11 June, H.E. the Governor Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam and the Hon. Premier Perin Bradley congratulated Mr Keithly Benjamin, Senior Magistrate, who has today been appointed by Her Majesty The Queen as an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the Birthday 2021 Honours List in recognition of his services to policing and the justice system in Anguilla.
“Mr Benjamin has given four decades of exemplary service to policing and justice in Anguilla. In a 31 year police career, reaching the most senior command, Mr Benjamin was key to building and shaping the Royal Anguilla Police Force. As a magistrate, he has championed fairness, efficiency and compassion in the justice system. Widely respected and trusted this award recognises his significant role in Anguilla’s national development.
