There was a considerably exciting time for the Management Committee and Staff at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Anguilla as they celebrated Anguilla Day 2021 on Monday, June 1, a national holiday.
Representatives of both personnel groups gathered in the resort’s cafeteria where they partied at a luncheon featuring Anguillian culinary dishes; saw a special video presentation by the marketing department in connection with the Anguilla Day celebrations; and listened to local music.
The resort’s Learning & Development Manager, Ms. Lorena Lobo, told The Anguillian newspaper: “Today, we are having a special celebration in our cafeteria for our employees on Anguilla Day. We are not only involved in the history and culture of the island. We are also very, very, happy that we have reopened our doors – and that the island is safe – and that all of us have the possibility of sharing in the Anguilla Day event.
“We are offering our employees a typical Anguillian meal, while still following all the protocols so that nobody gets exposed to COVID-19, and we have reduced the number of people here. We think it is important to celebrate the culture of Anguilla with our employees. We have people from everywhere – but we all have blended together to celebrate the island and its people that have received us so well.”
Ms. Lobo was delighted that the resort’s Marketing Department had made “a very nice video to celebrate Anguilla Day – and posted it all over the world to let people know we are celebrating the event, the Anguillian heroes and heroines and their courage.”
The resort’s Executive Committee member added: “This celebration was organised by the General Manager, Mr. Diego Angarita, and the Human Resources Department, called People and Culture. Everybody is really excited about the event. We are listening to Soca music; we are having a special meal; and we are raffling prizes. It is a way to make all of us happy, and proud, even though we are facing some challenging times.”
