The Valley, Anguilla – June 7th 2021 – Music lovers will have to wait to hear the sweet Soca Power and Groovy songs carded for the 7th annual Flow Soca Rave as the event has been pushed to 2022.
In light of the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic, and that Anguilla is only recently re-emerging from a national shut-down due to a spike in local cases, organizers have taken the hard decision to defer this year’s event until 2022.
The Flow Soca Rave Competition, since its inception as part of the Anguilla Summer Festival calendar of events in celebration of Anguilla’s emancipation, showcases the island’s Soca Power and Groovy contenders, as well as provides a platform for solo artists and lead band performers to compete for coveted titles.
Organizers and Flow feel that the safety of Staff, Artists and the wider Community must take precedence at this time. The Soca Rave Committee will work closely with the Anguilla Summer Festival, Artists and the Ministry of Social Development to create an even more memorable experience for music patrons in 2022.
“We are excited to host the 2022 Flow Soca Rave – Soca Monarch competition, one of the most coveted events of the Summer Festival activities. We look forward to the continued support from the Soca Artist, The Anguilla Summer Festival Committee and The Ministry of Social development in our endeavour to stage this prestigious competition.” Said Desron Bynoe, Country Manager, Flow Anguilla.
