On May 20th, we had a virtual session of the Executive Board and received an update from the Permanent Secretary of Health and the Chief of Medical Services.
Cases – I am happy to inform you that as of 12:00 today, May 20, there are only 2 positive Covid-19 cases left linked to the group of cases identified for the first time on 21 April th. There have been no more hospitalizations.
No more positive cases since May 10th. This is testimony to our dedicated health team’s commitment; and support from population in general that have followed the public health measures necessary to stop the potential increase in active cases beyond the group of cases identified in April. We thank the health teams and you for doing their part.

Vaccination program: As of yesterday May 19, 8.879 people had received their first dose and 4.806 people had had received their second dose. This is a tremendous effort and we are grateful for the support of all the support partners who have donated to the VAXAXA Challenge as we seek to ensure that Anguilla is adequately protected from the risk of the Covid-19. virus.
For those who have not yet been vaccinated, there is still time to receive your first dose. We ask you to seriously consider doing so for your own protection, for the protection of your loved ones and for the protection of all residents of Anguilla. We have a duty to care for each other: The vaccine is our only option to mitigate the risks of the Covid-19 virus without the need to continue to apply restrictive public health measures.
Vaccination will also allow you to participate in additional activities as part of our broader exit strategy and ensure your ability to meet potential travel vaccination requirements.
We are pleased to inform you that, starting next week, photo vaccination cards will be available This will be important so you can verify your vaccination status both here and abroad. The Ministry of Health will provide more information on the process of collecting your cards.
Thank you and may God continue to bless Anguilla.
