A large number of persons in Anguilla turned up at the Princess Alexandra Hospital on Wednesday, April 21, for the COVID-19 Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine.

There were two sets of persons who crowded the tent just outside the back area of the hospital, and on the steps of the institution. One set was to receive the first dose of the vaccine, while the other fulfilled appointments for the second dose, thus accounting for the increased number of persons.

There was an atmosphere of calm, resilience and respect at the scene as the healthcare workers worked diligently with the vaccine seekers in a timely, professional and commendable manner.
One lady, who wanted to get her vaccination over with, commented: “I am blessed to get my second dose”. It was a statement that encouraged others, in her category, as well as those who turned up for their first dose.
