General Manager of Four Seasons Anguilla, Mr. Diego Angarita, who took up his appointment on December 7, 2020, told The Anguillian newspaper:
“We are celebrating 60 years of the company, Four Seasons. Sixty years ago, Isadore Sharp started the company in Toronto, Canada, and here we are, 60 years later, with over 120 properties in over 30 countries world-wide. It has been a fantastic company to work for.
“We are celebrating with our teams and staff. It is not only a celebration for the company, but for the people also. Four Seasons is all about its people and is delighted to be able to have the Four Seasons Anguilla people celebrated.”
Asked how Four Seasons Anguilla was faring as a result of COVID -19, Mr. Angarita replied: “It has been a very difficult last twelve months, not only for the hotel, but for the island and the world. However, we are seeing signs now of coming out of it. We had a great spring break. We are now seeing the reduction of protocols which the Government gave out this weekend. I think we have the potential to have a decent summer and a great season in 2022.”
He continued: “Bookings are beginning to develop and we are hoping to see many more. It has already been better than it was three months ago, so I expect the summer will be a lot better than it is currently; and I expect the next season to be fantastic.
“The staff members have done an amazing job. There is so much respect for the team for everything they have been through – and having to deliver the service. At the same time, they have been so mindful of the need for safety. They are the frontline workers – the ones having to deal with the visitors coming in who potentially may have the virus, and dealing with the very strict protocols we have had on the island. I cannot say enough about the great job they have all done.”

Mr. Angarita further stated: “There are almost four hundred employees at Four Seasons Anguilla. We called back more employees over the spring break because the occupancy was so good. As the season begins to improve next year, we will be bringing more people back to work. I am very optimistic about the coming new season and how we will end up.”
Following the interview, Mr. Angarita proceeded to cut the special 60th Anniversary Cake. He was assisted by Mr. Carlos Villacanas, Director of Food & Beverage, and Ms. Kelvina Connor, Food & Beverage Assistant Manager.
The cutting of the cake was done in the cafeteria where staff members were treated to a special anniversary luncheon.
