There has been a considerable amount of jubilation among the team members, supporters, patrons and sponsors of the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School’s 2021 Sports Day Competition, won by the Maroon Dragons.
The final Sports Day event was held on Tuesday, February 23, on the Ronald Webster Park, following the road race for the five competing teams – on Thursday, February 18 – from Tropical Distributors at the Long Path to the Webster Park. The road race was sponsored by Fair Play Management Services.

Sports Day was a most splendid and colourful event, with cheerleaders of all Houses leading the parade to the beat of drum music. It was witnessed by the newly-appointed Governor of Anguilla, Ms. Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam; Deputy Governor, Mr Perin Bradley; the Minister of Education and Social Development, Ms. Dee-Ann Kentish-Rogers, who delivered the main address; and other Ministry and Department of Education officials. In addition to the Minister, the other speakers included the Principal of the school, Mrs. Rita Celestine-Carty; Mrs. Jade Reymond-Richardson of Flow Anguilla, the long-time Sports Day sponsor; and Mr. Kenan Lloyd, representative of Lloyd’s Aviation Services, the new additional sponsor.

The final results of the competition were: Maroon Dragons: 1015 points; Yellow Hornets: 939; Orange Tigers: 921; Pink Panthers: 904; and Purple Lions: 783.
