The Valley area has seen a March of Witness, staged by adult and youth leaders of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, which has heralded the convening of a virtual crusade beginning on Friday, February 26, and continuing until March 21.
The March of Witness, on Saturday, February 20, started at Coronation Park in The Central Valley, wended its way through the North Valley neighbourhood and ended at the New Life Crusade site there.
The youth groups involved in the event were the Ambassadors Pathfinder Club Drum Band, Blazing Stars Adventure Club and the AY Society at New Life. They were accompanied by various other members of the Mount Fortune Church.
Senior Minister and Coordinator of the SDA Ministry in Anguilla, Pastor Howard Simon, who accompanied the March of Witness, commented fully as follows: “It is a wonderful opportunity to get out into the community. There are so many negative things that we read or hear about – so we are just lifting a positive note, giving God the honour and praise. He has been good to us in Anguilla and we do not want to take that for granted because, even though we are protected and are blessed and are better than many, the most important thing is our salvation. We are marching not just to give God thanks but to encourage folks to give their lives to Christ because, ultimately, that is what matters. Nothing else is important. If we gain the whole world, and lose our soul, it is all in vain.
“This March of Witness is to sensitise the community that something great [the Crusade] is coming, and when it comes we hope that folks will come out to receive the Gospel and Christ in their lives. He is the only one that can make a difference. He is better than the vaccine – and better than anything else we have to offer.
“What is coming to Anguilla is the Good News Crusade with Evangelist Dr. Claudius Morgan. In North Valley, we will be having a big screen and a tent where residents can access the virtual crusade. It can also be accessed at Mount Fortune Church, at East End, and in the west at Jireh Tabernacle and the Long Bay Church, engaging small groups. We will be giving out the links so that persons, who are not able to come out, will have an opportunity to access the virtual crusade with their laptops or other mobile devices.
“These are times when hope is needed – and we have the blessed hope to share with the community, and so we are hoping that everybody can access the Good News Crusade and be blessed.”
