Mrs. Enna Gumbs (native of Dominica), and a belonger of Anguilla, completed online studies with Atlantic International University of USA where she obtained a Masters of Science degree in Counseling and graduated on February 21st 2021.

Prior to her pursuit of studies, specialising as a Counsellor, she gained experience at a tender age where she would visit elderly citizens to connect with them, listen, engage them and support their self-esteem in that phase of their lives. Her degree of choice was also inspired by an encounter with a troubled young lady who was in the process of ending her life by jumping over a cliff. She managed to persuade her not to make that fatal decision in that frightening moment. Her experience with the young lady made her realise that was one of her purposes in life, and it was then she became motivated and decided to pursue a degree to help persons.
Mrs. Enna Gumbs also works with children at the Seventh-Adventist Church and in the community. She had the privilege of completing an internship programme under the supervision of Pastor Howard Simon, Pastor of District 1 – Mt Fortune and New Life Seventh Day Adventist Church, in Anguilla.
Mrs. Gumbs worked as a Health Care Relations Officer at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. There she counselled patients and families, advocating on their behalf to help them navigate their way through different health challenges. Despite the challenges, especially during COVID 19 working on the frontline, the experience was a rewarding one.

Although COVID 19 pandemic made it physically impossible to walk down the aisles to receive her certificate, this disappointment did not overshadow her achievements. Her hard work and abilities of communicating with persons from all backgrounds, being open, empathic, trustworthy, and helping persons understand themselves better to help them cope with their situations, continue to leave a hopeful and positive effect on the people she encounters.

Thanks to God Almighty and all my supporters especially, Conlloyd Gumbs, who paved the way to my success. It’s my turn now to give back to the community.
