The 2nd Anguilla Youth Parliament which is led by the Department of Youth and Culture in collaboration with appropriate constitutional bodies, including the Anguilla House of Assembly, has successfully completed a 2-year tenure as representatives of ‘youth voice’ on Anguilla. The Final Meeting and Closing Ceremony was held at the Atlin Noraldo Harrigan Parliamentary Building, at 3:00 pm, on Friday 19th March 2021.
The Final Meeting included a review of the adoption of minutes from the last meeting – as well as the reading of the Dissolution of the House from the President of the Anguilla National Youth Council, Mr. Neil Gumbs. Thereafter, the Closing Ceremony commenced with reflections from each member.
Through their individual reflections, the 2nd Anguilla Youth Parliament expressed gratitude for the continuous support from the Department of Youth and Culture for the privilege of such a learning opportunity: parliamentary procedures. This opportunity provided Members of The Anguilla Youth Parliament with a forum to articulate the collective aspirations of young Anguillians on matters of national, regional and international importance.
