Reverend Fr. Christian with Altar Servers

Anglican Priest in Anguilla, Rev. Fr. Raliville Christian, paid particular attention to the young people when he conducted the 8 o’clock service at the Pro-Cathedral of St. Mary’s on Sunday, February 7.
During the early part of the service, three young children (two boys and one girl, members of the Cub Scouts), barely able to hold their heads above the pulpit, delivered some very thoughtful intercessions. One of them was so short that the priest put him to stand on a stool left in place for that purpose. The children read with much clarity and emphasis and were highly commended by Rev. Christian and the congregation. He urged them to remain focused on the important things in life, and thanked them for their prayers and readings.

Later, he requested a group of other young people, under 18, to stand and be recognised. They were praised for their attendance at church and Sunday School, and for their positive attitude and commitment to worship. Similarly, their parents and guardians were thanked for their parental and leadership roles.
Perhaps the main observation was the involvement of several young ladies as Altar Servers under the leadership of the Senior Server, Mr. Eustace Brooks. Their participation in the service, at that high level, drew much commendation from the congregation and provided a sterling example for other youth in Anguilla.
