Digicel Anguilla has entered into a contract with an upcoming social media enthusiast, Ms. Nisha Dupuis, to promote the telecommunication company’s services in the new position as Brand Influencer.
The contract was signed on Tuesday, January 19, at Digicel’s Corporate Office. The signatories were the company’s newly-appointed Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Anne Parles, and Ms. Dupuis.
“Welcome to Digicel, Anguilla. We are so thrilled to have you as our new Brand Influencer – and can’t wait to sign this contract with you,” the CEO told Ms. Dupuis in a brief video recording of the event.
“I am very excited, and I look forward to creating lovely content for Digicel,” Ms. Dupuis replied.
Digicel’s Go To Market Executive, Mr. Keithroy Proctor, told The Anguillian newspaper: “As our Brand Influencer, Nisha will be working in the capacity as an ambassador for our brand as well as helping to push our digital services. She will be instrumental in growing Grow Loud – that is our international podcast and radio application. On the application we will have local radio stations – Fusion Radio and Klass FM. We will also start featuring influencers to push their stories and views on Anguilla. Nisha will be uploading a regular podcast, or Go Loud section, which we will be spreading out to Anguilla. In that way, Nisha will actually be growing her brand image, and she will be helping us to increase our monthly active users in our Go Loud application.
“Since Digicel has gone into being a digital operator, we are taking our customers with us. We will have physical events where Nisha will advertise her podcast and help sell it in game users for us. In that way, we will be turning our physical customers into digital customers, thus growing the engagement. Nisha will be instrumental in growing Go Loud which, as I said, is our international podcast App which will also feature DJs. Nisha will be doing nine podcasts up until March.”
Asked to comment on her work, Nisha told the newspaper: “I am very excited about my role with Digicel. As a content creator, we will always be looking for great community partners. I love that Digicel has invited me to take on this role. It means I can explore Anguilla, and really interesting topics, while having a part to do with engagement and visibility for both of us. I’m very thrilled and humbled.
“I love creating videos and Digical has a really powerful marketing potential. I love what they are doing, and it helps me to be able to engage in really impactful subjects which I am discussing for my content.”
Asked to give an idea of some areas of her work, she replied: “My podcasts will target really inspirational stories. For example, I will try to finds out what makes people successful, and what drives them, and then share that in the hope that it would be motivational to other persons. Then there are blogs where we will go around Anguilla, and we share that, so content like that will be broadcast. There is Play Go and Go Loud so content like that will be broadcast on those Apps.”
“Is this part of your burning passion,” Nisha was asked.
“Yes, it is,” she replied. “We always speak about the importance of creators being able to get support from corporations – and I think this initiative is exemplary of Digicel’s community outreach.”
Nisha has been serving for some time now as Communication Specialist with the Ministry of Health for the Covid-19 vaccine deployment, and related matters. In the past, she worked at Radio Anguilla as an Announcer, for a few years, and has done reporting on Hurricane Irma for the BBC.
She has been engaged in studying Communications at the University of Technology in Jamaica. She thought it best to return to Anguilla last year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and was offered the post of Communication Specialist with the Ministry of Health.
Nisha was born in the Commonwealth of Dominica. She grew up in Anguilla from 2001 and officially became an Anguillian citizen recently.
