The month of September 2020 was marked as Attendance Awareness Month in all public primary schools under the theme: “School Achievement Begins With School Attendance”. The highlight of the month was, “Sock It To Truancy” Day which was observed on Friday, 25th September.

Past Education Welfare Officer, Mr. Carlton Pickering, who was invited to share with the children at Vivien Vanterpool Primary School, on regular and early attendance at school, challenged the students that at the end of November2020 the two best students in their attendance of each class would be given a ‘Surprise’.

On Monday 7th December 2020, KCN Managing Director, Mr. Carlton Pickering Sr., in collaboration with Mrs. Doreen Liburd, of J&J Souvenir & Gift Shop, kept well the ‘Surprise’ in presenting to the two best students a plaque each with their names and school year engraved.
Other students with favourable attendance were also presented with backpacks with school accessories. The gifts were well received with much appreciation expressed in the closing remark, by one of student.
Items were also donated, by Mrs. Claudette Pickering, to the School for the end of term Christmas party.
