UWI Open Campus Anguilla Guild of Students ONENESS 20/21

On Saturday 7th November, 2020, the UWI Open Campus Anguilla Guild of Students hosted its annual “Oneness” Student Gathering. The event, organised under the theme: “The World of Work: Preparing for Success!”, was an evening of information and support sessions for tertiary and pre-tertiary students on Anguilla – and included students from the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School, Comprehensive Learning Centre, the Anguilla Community College, and the UWI Open Campus Anguilla.

The evening was chaired by the Guild Treasurer, Natisha Davis, and included some excellent presentations by Shellya Rogers-Webster (Choosing the Right Career Path), Tahirah Banks (Be Your Own Boss), Sherise Brooks (Marketing Yourself), Jose Vanterpool (Digitising Your Value) and Genefa Fedee (Leadership and You). The sessions were interactive with attendees given the opportunity to field questions to the presenters.

The UWI OC Anguilla Guild of Students would like to express a heartfelt thank you to its sponsors: Titanium Audio Visuals and In Anguilla, the Department of Information, Technology and E-Government Services, Nikhil’s Fashion-Shop n Take, KB Gift Essentials and Island Gases for their kind contributions. Additionally, Sachas Five Lemonade and Creamee Creationz for their partnership, and the Department of Education for the use of the Teachers’ Resource Centre and the various presenters who gave of their time.
Oneness is an initiative of the UWI Open Campus Anguilla Guild of Students, and seeks to create avenues for students to obtain the necessary resources and information through the sharing of knowledge by experts and fellow students. The initiative is an opportunity for tertiary and pre – tertiary students to create networks while gaining tips on how to improve the balance between academics, work and family life.
The UWI Open Campus Guild of Students is the student arm of the UWI Open Campus and is the representative body for student interest and initiatives. The next scheduled activity for the Anguilla Guild of Students is the Annual Games Night in December 2020.
