SAFE TRAVEL ON SCHOOL BUSES

Parents and Guardians of students attending the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School (ALHCS) are asked to advise their children and wards to cease and desist from throwing eggs at the school buses or engaging in other dangerous activities that can distract the bus drivers, result in injury to other students or cause harm to people and property.

Students are also expected to be more respectful of other members of the school community and display levels of maturity beyond these senseless practices.

In response, the Department of Education is currently exploring the possibility of placing Bus Wardens on all buses to supervise passengers as they travel to and from the school. Until we are able to accomplish this, Security Officers will be placed on the buses, with immediate effect, to ensure the safety of all passengers.

All reports submitted by bus staff, of students engaging in practices that are deemed unsafe or unruly, will be taken seriously and can result in suspension from the bus service.

The cooperation of all is expected in this endeavour.

For further inquiries, please contact the Department of Education at 1.264.497.2874 or via email at education.mailbox@gov.ai.
