A professional Anguillian Entrepreneur, now back in her homeland, is blazing a new trail in the service industry in terms of providing accounting and financial services and business strategies to customers.
The young businesswoman is Ms. Nzingha Banks who has now launched her new company called The Difference: Accounting and Business Solutions. Her unique service has come at an opportune time when there is a growing need for small and medium businesses and organisations to benefit and succeed from her expertise.
She is backed by eight years of training and experience in Kansas, USA, as well as two years as an Accountant/Business Strategist at Banks’ Concierge Law in Texas. There, she acquired a great deal of experience and mentoring, under the guidance Mr. Olaide Banks, a noted Anguillian Certified Accountant and Attorney. In carrying out her services in Anguilla, Nzingha, who is popularly known on the island, will be supported by Mr. Banks, who is also the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Legal Counsel with Decision Information Resources in Houston, Texas.
In academics, Ms. Banks is a highly qualified professional. She holds a dual Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Accounting and Finance from Washburn University where she was a student collegiate tennis athlete; and a Master’s degree, from the University of Kansas, in Accounting, specialising in Advisory, Consulting and Assurance/Audit.
Speaking about her company, Ms. Banks told The Anguillian newspaper: “The mission of The Difference: Accounting and Business Solutions is to help businesses, organisations and government entities to maximise their profitability and increase efficiency. We are also committed to helping businesses sort out their most complex financial operational challenges. We are also providing creative thinking, strategic planning and other business ideas.”
The Vision of her company “is to be an accounting and business solutions service that helps clients to maximise profitability, and increase efficiency so that they can focus on enterprise longevity.”
Asked to explain how she plans to handle the start-up of her services, she stated: “I think the first thing is to understand where the need is and that is by meeting with different key stakeholders and regulators. By then, I would figure out the niche and see what is needed for small businesses and medium-sized firms. What I have understood is that there is a need for helping small businesses to understand the need for proper accounting records – as well as some businesses may need to do forecasting and strategic planning.”
Ms. Banks has recognised that there is a high demand in Anguilla for financial professionals and is anxious to be a team player with businesses and organisations in this regard. “There has been an influx of businesses that we believe, with their growing success, will look for more ways to maximise their business profits and goals,” she observed.
The passionate business professional is establishing her office in Caribbean Commercial Complex in the Valley and can be contacted on telephone numbers 584-0890 or 476-6222. She is the daughter of Mr. Kenn Banks and Dr. Phyllis Fleming-Banks, both of whom were instrumental in financing her studies, in addition to a one-year full-ride tennis scholarship and other partial academic and sports grants.
