A major hotel in Anguilla, Four Seasons Resorts and Residences, is now in operation again, relieving the unemployment situation on the island and resuming its guest services.
The five-star property officially reopened on November 19, after a series of Covid-19 in-house training sessions for over 400 employees, as well as preparations for a number of guests.
A representative group of employees, accompanied by the General Manager, Mr. José Adames, and the Resort Manger, Mr. Billy Cueto, hailed the reopening of the resort at a jubilant gathering on Saturday, November 21.
There, in the courtyard, Mr. Adames told The Anguillian newspaper: “After eight months of anticipation, we are so happy and excited to be reopened and welcoming our guests back to Anguilla; also, the best part of all of this, is to see our staff back on the floor smiling and so happy to be back at work.
“We look forward to welcoming all of our friends and family back to Anguilla, and to a wonderful season. Thank you.”
Belmond Cap Juluca reopened on Sunday, November 1, and CuisinArt Golf Resort and Spa on Saturday, November 14.
A number of other hotels in Anguilla will reopen in the middle of December.
The tourist season was cut short early this year due to the global coronavirus and the consequent closing of the borders of Anguilla.
