UWI Open Campus Anguilla & Anguilla Country Conference express Appreciation For Support of The Emancipation Lecture 2020

The UWI Open Campus Anguilla and The Anguilla Country Conference are expressing heartfelt thanks to those who worked to make the Emancipation, Lecture, ‘Slavery in Anguilla and the Price of Emancipation’ the success that it was.

The UWI, through this medium, wishes to extend special thanks to the Lecturer, Mr. Carlyle Rogers, the Methodist Church Anguilla Circuit, Leaders and Members of Ebenezer Congregation, Ebenezer Men’s Fellowship, Roots Binghi, Miss Akira Rogers, Mr. Lennox Vanterpool, Mrs. Lois Hazell and the Anguilla National Choir. To the media including Radio Anguilla, The Anguillian, and Lloyd Gumbs and Ebenezer People/IN Anguilla – for the live stream. UWI also expressed its warmest appreciation to the large and supportive audience.

Manager of the UWI Open Campus Anguilla and the British Overseas Territories, Dr. Phyllis Fleming-Banks stated, “We were thrilled with the level of support received in relation to the lecture. We are so grateful to every participant, for the soul-lifting music, the melodious singing, and the powerfully delivered, thought-provoking lecture. These lectures are about making all of us aware, or more aware, of our past that affects our present and future.”

The University of The West Indies Open Campus Anguilla and the Anguilla Country Conference, in collaboration with the Methodist Church, Anguilla Circuit, presented their Emancipation Lecture on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at the Ebenezer Methodist Church in the Historic Lower Valley.
