COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL PROJECT REACHES ANGUILLA’S HORIZON

Some residents in the Stoney Ground/Little Dix/Cauls Pond areas are seeing some of the effects of the consequences of development with the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School project in The Quarter.

From their vantage point the structure, at the eastern section of the 17.5 acres of land, not only appears to reach Anguilla’s southern horizon, but threatens to partially block their view of the St. Martin mountain range.

However, nobody is actually complaining about the lost view, but welcomes the expansive new school building, one of the projects being funded by the UK Government under the Anguilla Programme.

The other projects include the additions to The Valley Primary School; the Orealia Kelly Primary School at Stoney Ground; the Adrian T. Hazell Primary School at the South Hill/Blowing Point corner; and the brand new Morris Vanterpool Primary School at East End.

Other projects are the Princess Alexandra Hospital at Pope Hill which is being extensively refurbished and expanded; The Valley Polyclinic and administrative offices, where construction work is progressing very well; and the Western Polyclinic at South Hill/Blowing Point which is virtually completed.
