The University of the West Indies (UWI) Open Campus is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Aunika Webster-Lake as part of the leadership team at the UWI Open Campus, Anguilla.

Mrs. Webster-Lake is no stranger to the UWI as she has served as an Adjunct Facilitator for a number of years. She is currently reading for her Bachelors in Law. In addition, Mrs. Webster-Lake brings valuable educational and leadership experience, having served in the Anguilla Public Service as a Graduate Teacher, Deputy Director, Human Resource Manager and Labour Commissioner. As an HR Consultant and Trainer, her expertise is well-sought after and respected in the private sector.

In her new role, she will assist the Manager of the UWI Open Campus British Overseas Territories (BOTS), Dr. Phyllis Fleming-Banks, with the management of the Anguilla Site.

In making the announcement, Dr. Fleming-Banks said, “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Aunika as a full-time member of the Team. Aunika is a gifted and passionate educator with knowledge, skills and experience that are perfectly-suited for assisting us in realising the goals of the Open Campus and the University of the West Indies at large. Over the last few years she has endeared herself to the Staff and her students and we look forward, with excitement, to her contributions in this new role.”
Reflecting on her appointment, Mrs. Webster-Lake stated, “Since working with UWI as an Adjunct Facilitator I fell in love with the passion the Team has for their work and their students. My new role at the Open Campus reinforces my love and passion for education; characteristics that I held and still hold. I believe, wholeheartedly, that when we empower ourselves with a good education, then we can go out and use that education to build our country. The UWI Open Campus Anguilla is key to building the future of Anguilla and I am delighted to be a part of the building that is and that will continue to take place.”
