This summer, Gino Webster, Co-Founder of Thoughtful Digital Agency, and Ariel Bushay, Head of Media & Motion at Thoughtful, collaborated to train young students as a part of the Department of Youth & Culture’s Youth Escape Programme.

Ariel led students through an introduction to videography curriculum – while Gino and Jose Vanterpool taught participants the basics of Web Development, HTML, CSS and Javascript.

These collaborations from the team at Thoughtful advanced the company’s mission of leading technology development in the Caribbean from Anguilla.

“Training the next generation of Anguillians to see the value in technology careers is the only way we build a more resilient island. Technology education is one way to protect our people in times of crisis like the one we are experiencing today, ” Gino remarked.
At the end of both programmes students submitted a final project to be presented to parents, the team and the DYC.
Videography students shared 30-60 second videos, while Web Development students presented customised websites based on their personal interests.

“I was surprised to learn that so many students were interested in the process of telling visual stories,” Ariel shared.

The success of the DYC’s programme speaks to the importance of continuing to engage youngsters in interesting and unconventional ways.

“Gino and Ariel’s work with the Department of Youth and Culture was a great testing ground for our Thoughtful Labs programme. We are very committed to using our relationships to accelerate the training of young Angullians in the technology and creative space,” Tahirah Banks commented.

Thoughtful is an Internationally Recognized Digital Marketing Agency based in Anguilla, British Caribbean & Houston, Texas.
