The appointment of Mr. Kenneth Hodge, to temporarily serve as Acting Premier of Anguilla, is a note for the national records and is hereby published by The Anguillian newspaper.
The appointment, from August 23 to August 31, was made by Governor Timothy Foy, OBE, under sections 26 (1) and 27 (1) of the Constitution of Anguilla. The Governor acted with the advice of Premier Dr. Ellis Webster who is absent overseas on official business. Mr. Hodge, Minister of Home Affairs, was also authorised to perform the functions of Minister of Finance and Health, part of the Premier’s substantive portfolio.
Mr. Hodge had been an Anguillian public servant for some forty years. Her served as a Graduate Teacher; Director of Information and Broadcasting; Principal Assistant Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office and later at the Department of Public Administration. While serving in that department, he was appointed to lead the Public Service Reformation Programme until his recent retirement.
Shortly afterwards, he entered the political arena as an Island-wide Candidate of the Anguilla Progressive Movement, in the 2020 general elections, and won his current parliamentary seat. He was appointed Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Labour, Human Rights, Constitutional Affairs, Information and Broadcasting, Lands and Physical Planning.
Mr. Hodge holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree, from the UWI Cave Hill School of Business, with a specialty in Public Sector Management.
