The Anguilla Cadet Corp held its Summer Camp from Monday 10th to Saturday 15th August 2020 at the Prophecy Preschool at The Quarter.
The Camp hosted about twenty-five Cadets including adults. It focussed on hiking the entire coastline of Anguilla.

Each day the Cadets were asked to cover certain distances as listed below:

  • Katouche to Meads Bay
  • Meads Bay to Cove Castle
  • Cove Castle to Carito
  • Carito to Island Harbor
  • Island Harbour to Katouche

During each day two lessons were presented. They covered such topics as:

  • Map and compass
  • Judging the distance
  • Movement in the field
  • Different signs
  • Different formations
  • Skill at Arms
  • Rope repelling
  • Mass casualty exercise
  • Why persons are seen

Each journey was accomplished with success. The minor ache and pains were overcome by the following day.

Our gratitude goes out to the Fire Department and Police Department for their assistance; to the parents who willing assisted us with the preparation of meals on a daily basis; and to the Department of Education and Department of Youth and Culture for their assistance.
Appreciation is also expressed to the adult officers and ranks for their assistance throughout the event. Your contribution is valuable to the development of our youths.

We are excited and look forward to our new School Year. Its takes a community to raise a child and I am positive that with our input you will be very proud of the result.

So I am inviting parents to let us work together to raise our children the way we would like them to grow.
Capt. Neville Hamilton
Commandant
Anguilla Cadet Corps
