During the graduation ceremony at the Alwyn Allison Richardson Primary School on Tuesday, July 7, two of the graduates were recipients of scholarship awards for school supplies.
Tafari Hughes received the Teacher Omah Richardson’s Special Literacy Award in the sum of 250 US dollars. It was presented by Mr. Cardigan Connor, the late Mrs. Richardson’s godson, who is the Elected Representative for West End and Long Bay.
Tafari also received 250 EC dollars from the William Ferdinand Dore Scholarship Fund. Mr. Dore, who resides in Basseterre, St. Kitts, is a former Headmaster at the then West End Primary School.
The other scholarship winner was Armani Lake. He received the Delta Petroleum Extra-mile Award – a book voucher in the sum of US 200 dollars, redeemable at the Coral Reef Bookstore.
Armani was also the recipient of 200 US dollars from the Albert Hughes’ Scholarship Fund. The late Mr. Hughes was a former Elected Representative for West End and Long Bay. He served for over twenty years.
