There is an old Anguillian adage that one hand can’t clap, and in the spirit of that old saying the Rotary Club of Anguilla partnered with several other socially responsible organisations to provide some much needed food supplies to the four senior citizens’ homes on island.
Thus, for making this possible, we would like to thank Sol Petroleum for generously funding the purchase of the supplies while the Rotary Club of Anguilla planned and executed the initiative. Long time Rotary Club of Anguilla partner and supporter Best Buy Anguilla facilitated the acquisition of the supplies. Mr. Leslie Joseph of the Beloved Project loaded and trucked the items to all locations utilizing the services of The Right Stuff Rentals and Trucking Service – all provided free of cost.
We would like to thank our members who stayed after our weekly meeting to prepare the food baskets. Great team work!
The motto of the Rotary Club of Anguilla is ‘service above self’. One of the five avenues by which Rotarians undertake service is through community service. The organization encourages every Rotarian to find ways to improve the quality of life for people in their communities and to serve the public interest. Rotary International encourages its member clubs to partner with the organisations that align with Rotary values and have a keen interest in improving the community within which they exist. The Club was pleased to be able to partner with other organizations on this initiative and fulfil this Rotary year’s theme of opening opportunities for others’. Certainly in this case several hands clapped loudly to the tune of community service.
