COMMENDATIONS FOR ELECTORAL OFFICIALS – 2020 ELECTIONS
I wish to publicly commend the former Supervisor of Elections, Ms Aurjul Wilson, for the tremendous work that was done to improve the electoral process on Anguilla. The electorate can generally conclude that the new measures that were instituted made a significant difference and ensured an extremely smooth operation. Undoubtedly, there was order and decency. Miss Wilson worked assiduously and ought to be proud of herself. The early voting, use of registration cards and the counting machines were insightful and remarkable. Based on the pending report from the official observers, voters can only look forward to improvements for the 2025 general elections.
I must also commend the present Supervisor, Mr Rodney Rey, who fully assumed the responsibility at the eleventh hour. It was not an easy task, but his experience and positive work ethics enabled him to perform admirably.
Of course, the work could not be done without the many individuals who worked at the various polling stations. I wish to thank each of them. It was a long day, but they were welcoming, patient and helpful. All in all, it was a job well done by all who were involved. Thank you.
