The University of the West Indies (UWI) Open Campus Anguilla this week launched the Summer Session for its Continuing and Professional Education (CPE) programmes with a special course on Governance, Risk, Compliance & Controls. The locally-taught course is being facilitated by Mrs. Evorna Hodge, a graduate of the UWI Open Campus.
Focusing on topics like Corporate Governance, Legal and Regulatory Standards, Business Ethics & Transparency, Risk Management and Risk Assessment, Response and Evaluation, the course has attracted a number of professionals in the financial and accounting sectors.
Mrs. Hodge is a Financial Regulator with extensive experience in Regulatory Compliance, Governance Strategies, and Risk Management. With added professional certification that includes Compliance Management, Anti Money Laundering Supervision, International Trust Management, Insurance Development Regulations and Supervision, she is aptly poised to lead this training, says Manager for the UWI Open Campus British Overseas Territories, Dr. Phyllis Fleming-Banks. “Mrs. Hodge has distinguished herself in the financial industry and we are delighted to welcome back another outstanding UWI graduate to give back to her alma mater in this way.”
According to Dr. Fleming-Banks, there is still time for interested persons to join this or any of the other local CPE courses on offer at the UWI Open Campus this Summer, including Creative Writing, Mastering English, Foundation Maths and First Responders Victim Awareness Training.
