On Monday, June 15th, the Health Authority of Anguilla (HAA) received two digital thermometers from telecommunications provider – Digicel. The presentation was made at Digicel’s Retail Store, located in The Valley, by CEO Kerchelle Jn Charles-Hodge. The Health Authority’s CEO, Mrs. Maeza Demis-Adams, received the thermometers and expressed heartfelt gratitude to Digicel for the timely contribution.
When asked about the impetus behind the contribution, Mrs. Jn Charles-Hodge stated that: “Digicel remains committed to being actively involved in the community’s fight against COVID-19. While my team and I continue to work tirelessly to make sure Anguillians affordably stay connected during these unprecedented times, we felt it was equally important to make a contribution to those on the frontline”
Sr. Marketing Executive, Miss Roxanne Webster, added: “The importance of the Health Authority cannot be overstated, particularly as they collaborate with government officials to navigate us through the threat of this pandemic. They have done a wonderful job of minimizing the bigness of the threat and in calming the fears of Anguillians. Hopefully, Digicel’s contribution will help to alleviate the pressure of our first responders as they continue to tackle the threat of COVID-19 on Anguilla.”
Digicel wishes to remind the general public that the fight against COVID-19 is everyone’s business, and still ongoing. To this end, Anguillians are reminded to be vigilant, frequently wash their hands and practice social distancing.
