Anguilla Toastmasters Club Wins Regional Speech Competition

The Anguilla Toastmasters Club is proud to announce that Ms. Susan Hodge, who currently serves as Club Vice President (VPE), took part in a Toastmasters regional speech competition.
The competition was held in St. Kitts at the Marriot Resort, on Saturday 22nd February 2020, and saw Toastmasters from Anguilla, St. Kitts and Nevis and St. Eustatius competing for coveted titles in three categories of speech. The categories were Humorous speech, Table Topics (Impromptu speech) and International speech. Anguilla Toastmasters Club very own, Susan Hodge was crowned the winner of Humorous speech and placed second in the other two categories.

The official contests results are:
Humorous Contest: TM Vice President Education, Susan Hodge, 1st place (Anguilla – Anguilla Toastmasters Club); TM Juliet Constantine, 2nd place (St. Kitts – Sugar City Toastmasters Club); and TM President Alsira Maharaj, 3rd place (St. Eustatius – Golden Rock Toastmasters Club).
Table Topics Contest: TM President Pauline Slack, 1st place (St. Kitts – Sugar City Toastmasters Club); and TM Susan Hodge 2nd place (Anguilla – Anguilla Toastmasters Club).

International Contest: TM Marilyn Johnson, 1st place (St. Kitts – Sugar City Toastmasters Club); and TM Susan Hodge, 2nd place (Anguilla – Anguilla Toastmasters Club).

Division E Director, Ms. Linette Gibs, was present to witness the competition and present the awards.
The winners have just a moment to celebrate as they prepare for the next leg of the contest; the Division contest. Division E contests are scheduled for Saturday 4th April in St. Maarten. There are 6 Areas on Division E, and all the Area Contests winners will be represented in the Division Contest. If they are successful at the Division Contest they will move on to represent their Division at the District Conference in Aruba in May 2020.
We congratulate all the winners and wish them well. We particularly celebrate VPE Susan and offer our gratitude for representing Anguilla Toastmasters Club with distinction and class. We wish her well in the next level of the competition.
Toastmasters is a world renowned International club and teaches competent communication and effective leadership. You’re invited to visit our Toastmasters Club to experience first-hand the life changing benefits of the club. We meet every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month, from 6:45pm to 8:45pm at the Anguilla Community College (ACC). The dress code is business casual. The next meeting is scheduled for March 14th 2020. We look forward to having you as our guest.
