The Anguilla Cancer Society would like to thank Mrs Lenore Grubman, Dr. Jerry Grubman, Knitted Knockers Support Foundation, JFK Medical Center Foundation Auxiliary, and Hackensack Meridian Health, for their kind contribution of 202 Knitted prostheses, support bras, laundry bags, charts, knitting needles, crochet hooks and starter kits, brochures, and other accessories. Back in December, 2019, the Grubmans met with members of the Anguilla Cancer Society during their vacation on Anguilla. After returning to the United States of America they worked with several orgnaisations and groups to collect the handmade prosthesis and donations for the people in Anguilla affected by breast cancer. These handcrafted prosthesis received a few weeks ago, were made with love and hope, followed by light soft materials that are alternatives to the heavy traditional prostheses currently worn by women who have had a mastectomy(ies) due to breast cancer.
Anyone in need of these prostheses can contact the Anguilla Cancer Society at 235-8282 as soon as possible. They are FREE and available to all in need! The aim of the Anguilla Cancer Society is to work to prevent cancer and also to assist persons diagnosed with cancer. The growing number of persons being diagnosed today is calling for more people to volunteer in the fight against cancer.
Be a volunteer! The very nature of volunteering means choosing to work without being paid for it. Today, doing good to help others is becoming a thing of the past. It is important to bring back that love and community spirit in caring about the welfare of others. As a volunteer, you choose to invest your efforts in the community and people who live in it. You’re providing a valuable service to the community and are giving back through social responsibility. If only everyone did something so selfless, we would build a happier and healthier Anguilla.

Cancer Society with donations

The Anguilla Cancer Society meets every third Monday in each month at the Old Boy School, The Valley, Anguilla. The society would also like to thank Bishop Brooks, and the leaders of the St. Mary’s Pro Cathedral who continue to support the society by allowing them the use of their building. In addition, the kind support from the Anguilla Electricity Company, The Anguillian newspaper and many others too numerous to mention.
Once again, on the half of the people of Anguilla we say thank you for this timely donation!
