The Outreach Pre-School (TOPS) in Cauls Bottom, held its first fundraising golf tournament on Saturday February 8th to raise money for the school.
The event was held at the CuisinArt Golf Resort & Spa, and included an 18-hole tournament – which is part of qualifying for Anguilla’s Three Country Challenge team – luncheon, silent auction and awards ceremony. Registration began at 8:30 a.m. with a shot gun tee-off at 9:30 a.m.
Organized by parents, Lisa & Scott DeLong, the golf tournament was part of the annual campaign to raise funds for much needed sleeping cots, security cameras and a new outside playground.
The event attracted 39 players including those from St Maarten. Also present was The Hon. Cardigan Connor, Parliamentary Secretary for sports.
The tournament was a huge success and raised US$8.939.00 to help support the safe and secure learning of pre-school students at TOPS. Monicia Webster, Principal of TOPS said: “We are thrilled at the success of the event. We would like to thank Lisa & Scott DeLong for organising the event and to all of our sponsors for their generous donations and community support. We take it as a personal challenge to help each child realize and capitalize on his/her full potential.”
