For the first time, the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School has taken the decision to publish in The Anguillian newspaper, every term, the names of those students who have attained the school’s honour roll. The honour roll students are divided into two categories: the Principal’s List and the Deputy Principal’s List.
The Anguillian spoke with Deputy Principal, Mrs. Charmaine Rey-Richardson, and asked her why there is a need to publicize the honour roll attainees now, instead of recognizing them all at once at the traditional annual Speech Night event. She answered: “We have taken the decision to list the honour roll students in the paper at this time for a two-fold purpose: first, so that the public may be given an opportunity each year to track the honourees as they progress toward graduation, by which time readers of the paper would be well familiar with their identity when they would achieve ultimate honorary status at the end of their enrollment at the school.

“Secondly, it is so that the students themselves would be encouraged with a sense of formal accomplishment even as they move from one form to another and, as a result, they would be inspired with the incentive to persevere to maintain an admirable standard of excellence.”

She noted that those making the Principal’s list are the students who would have achieved grade A (85-100) in each subject, while those on the Deputy Principal’s list comprise students who score an A-average for all the subjects in which they were tested. Honor-roll students are as follows:
