Re: Pensions For Former Employees of CCB and NBA
Dear Dr. Webster,
I acknowledge receipt of your letter and have noted that it was simultaneously copied to the press. Obviously, it is clearly your intention to get as much ventilation for your intervention as possible, in this season. We believe that bearing in mind the complexity of the issues involved in resolving this matter; and the manner (as you yourself suggested) that this can affect people’s lives — this must not be used as a political football.
Your letter includes a number of inaccuracies and in my view disingenuous statements that brings in to question your real motives. In the circumstances, I will ensure that you received an appropriate response to your letter in due course.
Notwithstanding, all of the foregoing, I want to place on record this Government’s continuing commitment to bringing all the issues related to the Banking Resolution, including matters affecting former employees, to a successful outcome. We promised in coming to office that we would work through all the unresolved matters left to us. We will not shirk from that purpose even in the face of the challenges that continue to confront us.
Please accept my best wishes for 2020.

Blessings,
Victor F. Banks
Premier
